Authors At The Market welcomes Amanda Passalaqua Wednesday, June 15th from 3 – 6 pm for a signing of her book, Seriously Disturbed, a collection of short horror stories. If you like supporting independent bookstores, and local authors, please stop by for a visit.http://thisoldbook.com/NewsEvents.html
Remember to visit This Old Book (138 Center Street) Wednesday June 8th for the second week of Authors at the Market at the Grayslake Farmers Market. The author this week is David Ford. Hope to see you there.
Starting Wednesday, June 1, This Old Book will host Authors at the Market during the Grayslake Farmers Market from 3 – 6 pm. A different local author will appear each Wednesday in front of This Old Book at 138 Center Street. I’ll be there June 1 with copies of Edison the Christmas Elf and the Imperfect Perfect Toy (it’s never too early to start shopping for Christmas). I’ll also have free copies of the first chapters of my next book, Vanished!, scheduled for publication late this summer.
Melissa Blue, the illustrator for Edison the Christmas Elf, is opening a fine arts gallery in Grayslake, Illinois, at 148 Center Street. The grand opening will take place on Saturday, April 30, from 2 – 5 pm. Please join her for champagne and cookies
I want to thank all of you who bought “Edison the Christmas Elf and the Imperfect Perfect Toy” this past holiday season. You made Edison extremely happy – he gets a percentage of the profits. And for those who didn’t buy Edison, you still have time. After all there are only about 287 days left until Christmas. www.xmasclock.com
“Vanished!” is on its way. Well, not until late summer. I recently signed a contract with my publisher for my second children’s book. If all goes well it will be published as a hardcover in late July, but more likely in August of this year. The book is about the adventures a young girl experiences while searching for her missing bear. Lindsay Wallen is the artist.
Mark your calendars for July 30 for Authorfest 2016. Meet more than 25 local authors (including me) at the Round Lake Area Community Center from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The event will have author readings, music, activities, food vendors, and more. I’ll post updates on my Facebook author page and my website. Janet Elliot, owner of This Old Book in Grayslake, is the co-chair of the event. You can find more information on the festival by visiting Facebook @authorfest.
I’ll be appearing at an author signing and book reading on Saturday, December 12th, from 12 – 3 pm at This Old Book, 138 Center St, Grayslake, Il. The reading of Edison the Christmas Elf will take place at 1:30 pm. Come for the signing and stay for some browsing at this wonderful bookstore.
The Lake County Journal has published an article by Angela Sykora about how Edison the Christmas Elf and the Imperfect Perfect Toy came to be. Click this link http://tinyurl.com/hhylmf8 to read the story online. It will also appear in the hardcopy edition of the Journal on Thursday, December 10. I hope you enjoy it.
An estimated 40% of American consumers have already started Christmas shopping, but there’s no need to panic if you haven’t started. There is still time to buy a hardcover edition of Edison the Christmas Elf and the Imperfect Perfect Toy.
Edison is about an elf who dreams of making the perfect Christmas toy. He’s full of imaginative ideas, but they’re often disastrous! Every year Santa Claus waits for Edison to reveal his new idea, and every year Santa worries: just what enormous, tremendous, monstrous problem will Edison’s new toy cause next?
The book costs $18 (free shipping) from me ($19.95 on Amazon). I’ll be happy to sign and add a personal message to your copy. Just send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Limited (numbered) editions are also available for $22.
